Window Box FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
How large can the viewing window be?
Start with the product area that must be visible, then preserve enough surrounding board for the carton to fold and handle properly. Sample the proposed opening with the intended window material. Assess corner distortion and panel bowing rather than choosing window size from appearance alone.

Can the product touch the transparent window?
State whether scuffing, grease or cosmetic transfer would be unacceptable, then check the filled sample for contact during handling. An insert or additional clearance may be needed. The window should be reviewed as a viewing element, not assumed to restrain the product.
Technical references
Will a window affect the carton barcode?
Place the barcode on a stable printed panel with suitable contrast and clear space, away from window edges and folds. Verify the finished pack with its contents installed. A code over a variable product background or reflective window can be difficult to read consistently.
Technical references
Can we describe every window carton as recyclable?
Review the exact board, window film, adhesive and coatings against the relevant local recovery system. Consider whether the window is intended to be separated by the buyer and how that action would be explained. Approve any environmental wording using evidence for the finished construction.
