Reverse Tuck End (RTE) FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
How does a reverse tuck carton change the opening direction?
Its two end tucks are arranged on opposing faces, so the top and bottom do not read identically during assembly. Mark the customer opening end and artwork orientation on the dieline, then ask packers to trial a printed folded sample.

Can a reverse tuck carton be loaded from either end?
Confirm the product loading method and any internal leaflet or insert before approving that approach. Trial both access and closure using production-size contents. A tuck that works as a customer opening may be awkward for loading a product with projecting parts.
Technical references
Will the bottom tuck stay closed during retail handling?
Check a filled sample for base engagement when lifted, tilted and replaced on a shelf. Give the actual weight and contact shape to the structural designer. If a seal or different base is proposed, include it in subsequent package evaluation.
Technical references
Where should a barcode go on an RTE carton?
Use a panel that stays flat and visible when both ends are closed, with the required clear space around the symbol. Avoid the tuck seam and decorative interruptions. Verify a finished sample after assembly rather than approving only the digital code image.
