Gable Box FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
How do we size the gable handle for a filled pack?
Specify the packed weight, how the customer will grip it and the intended carry distance or use pattern. Trial the handle opening and folded top with the actual contents. Check finger comfort, tearing around cut edges and whether the base stays square.
Technical references
Does the gable top reduce usable product height?
The sloping roof and handle structure occupy space above the main walls. Supply the complete product profile and check a folded sample, especially tall caps or gift decorations. Confirm the usable rectangular area rather than treating overall height as unrestricted capacity.
Technical references
Can a gable box hold unpacked food directly?
Define the food, contact temperature, grease exposure and destination market before approving the board, coatings and print. Request documentation for the actual intended contact use. A carry-handle shape is not evidence that the complete finished box is suitable for direct food contact.
How do we keep the gable closure from releasing while carried?
Trial the exact top-lock engagement with the filled pack, including any liner or tissue near the roof folds. Observe whether handle loading pulls the closure apart. Include the intended carrying method in the evaluation before choosing an additional seal or revised lock.
