Pillow Box FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
Why is pillow-box capacity difficult to specify from flat dimensions?
The curved faces and folded ends reduce the usable space compared with a simple rectangle. Send the complete product outline and trial it in an erected sample. Check the thickest point and end clearance rather than calculating capacity from the flat blank.

Can a pillow box stand upright on a shelf?
Its curved body and end closures require a physical stability check in the intended display position. Trial the filled sample on the actual shelf or support. If it rocks or rolls, consider a display holder or a different geometry for that application.
Technical references
How do we avoid crushed or sprung-open pillow ends?
Match the end curves and creases to the selected board, then close samples around the actual contents. Inspect for excessive pressure from the product and incomplete end engagement. Forcing an overfilled pillow box shut can spoil the profile and stress its ends.

Is a pillow box suitable for a delicate item?
Treat it as a presentation structure and review the item's movement and surface sensitivity separately. Sample an inner wrap or holder where necessary, then assess the complete shipping arrangement. The curved shell should not be assumed to supply tested impact protection.
