Clamshell Box FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
What should be confirmed about the clamshell's two halves?
Approve the exact hinge location, cavity depths and meeting edges on a structural sample. Check how the loaded pack rests when open and which half holds the product. The clamshell name does not specify every lid-wall or closing detail.

Can a clamshell box display products while open?
Define the intended display angle and surface, then trial the filled sample for tipping, lid movement and access. The opening should expose the product without requiring a customer to hold the lid constantly. Do not assume the hinge acts as an angle stop.
Technical references
How do we prevent contents moving into the hinge gap?
Position the insert and loose accessories away from the moving joint, then close and open a packed sample. Check soft pouches and leaflets as well as rigid items. Any hinge gap needs review in the final configuration rather than only in an empty mockup.

What matters where the clamshell halves meet?
Inspect alignment around the closed perimeter and check whether an overfilled insert holds one side open. Trial the proposed closure and wrap together. Agree on the cosmetic meeting line while separately evaluating how the filled pack remains closed during handling.
