Partial Telescope FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
How do we set the visible band on a partial-telescope box?
Specify how much base should remain exposed below the fitted lid and approve it on a sample. Check the view with the box placed on its intended shelf. Small changes in overlap can alter where graphics sit and how easily customers grip the base.
Technical references
Will a shallow rigid lid stay aligned?
Evaluate the paired lid and base in the actual wrap materials, checking rocking and corner alignment. Include normal packing and handling in the trial. If retention is required, specify a seal, sleeve or other feature rather than assuming the shallow friction fit is sufficient.
Technical references
Can printing cross the lid-to-base junction?
It can be designed as a visual relationship, but approve realistic alignment rather than requiring a continuous image from separate components. Check printed paired samples with the lid fully seated. Keep small text and critical logo details clear of the junction.
Technical references
How do we make a close-fitting product easy to lift out?
Set the base wall and insert height around the customer's gripping motion. Trial actual removal after the partial lid comes off, using the real product. A finger recess or lifting detail may be worth sampling when the visible product area is too small to grip.
