Drawer Box (Match Style) FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
How much sliding clearance does a match-style drawer need?
Approve the sleeve and tray together with their actual wrap and lining, checking the preferred resistance through the full stroke. Trial both an empty and filled drawer. Clearance that feels acceptable without contents can behave differently when the tray carries its intended load.
How can we stop the drawer sliding out unintentionally?
Define the handling orientation and whether a retaining feature or shipping seal is required. Trial the closed, filled package for unintended movement. Do not assume friction alone will hold the drawer during every delivery movement merely because it opens smoothly on a table.
Technical references
What grip detail should a match-style drawer use?
Choose a finger recess, exposed edge or other pull based on the tray position and customer's access. Test removal with a close-fitting product installed. The user needs a clear way to start the slide without pinching the product or damaging the sleeve edge.
Can an insert make the drawer bind?
An insert that pushes the tray walls outward or allows the product to rise can interfere with sliding. Sample the complete loaded assembly and inspect the sleeve contact areas. Resolve insert fit before increasing the sleeve size, which may make drawer retention inconsistent.
