Exposed Shoulder Box FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
How wide should the exposed shoulder band be?
Specify the intended visible gap between lid and base on the structural drawing and approve it on a paired sample. Check the band from several viewing angles. The chosen reveal should work with the product presentation rather than being inferred from the overall height.
Technical references
Can we use a contrasting color on the exposed shoulder?
A contrasting wrap can emphasize the band, but approve the color on the actual shoulder and adjoining components. Check alignment and visible joins on a finished sample. Keep any small printed message away from areas where lid seating could partially conceal it.
Technical references
How do we stop the exposed shoulder looking uneven?
Inspect the assembled base, neck and lid together on a level surface, with the intended contents fitted. Agree on an acceptable reveal reference and check for a lid held up by the product. Review component squareness before disguising an uneven gap with artwork.
Technical references
Does the visible gap leave the product unprotected?
Review how the internal neck and lid overlap behind the decorative reveal on the actual drawing. Specify any dust, moisture or handling requirements separately. The appearance of a narrow exterior band cannot establish barrier performance or retention during shipment.
