Hinged Lid Box FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
How should we specify the hinged lid's opening angle?
Describe whether the box will be opened on a counter, held in the hand or used as a standing display. Trial that position with the finished hinge and loaded insert. The attached lid needs enough travel for access without being forced beyond its designed motion.

Does a hinged lid need a separate closure?
The hinge keeps the lid attached, but the method of keeping it closed should be specified separately. Compare the proposed magnet, catch or other retaining detail on a filled sample. Include any shipping band or seal in the final handling evaluation.
Technical references
Can the hinge area carry a continuous printed design?
Plan graphics around the hinge folds and review the design on a finished sample. Check how the image reads both open and closed, including any wrap joins. Keep fine text away from moving folds unless its appearance there has been approved physically.

How do we avoid the product catching under the attached lid?
Check the entire lid sweep against the tallest product, insert and accessory. Trial packing and removal with the actual contents. A box can have sufficient closed height yet still catch a projecting part while the hinged cover moves into position.
