Half Telescope Box FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
Why choose a half-telescope box over full coverage?
Partial lid coverage leaves more of the base visible and changes the removal grip. Confirm the visible band and the required product access on a physical sample. The overlap should be specified on the drawing rather than inferred from the model name.
Technical references
How should graphics align across the lid and base?
Treat them as separate components with an overlap area and manufacturing variation. Identify any artwork that must remain visible when closed and compare paired printed samples. Avoid placing a critical word exactly at the junction where lid position can hide or divide it.
Technical references
Will a shallow lid remain on during transit?
Its fit and depth alone do not establish retention through handling. Specify the final sealing method, then assess the packed configuration for lid lift and product movement. A tamper label, tape or overpack may be part of the sample being evaluated.
Technical references
What should we measure for easy product removal?
Check the base wall height against the product's gripping area, not just the total box height. Trial lifting the item out after removing the shallow lid. Finger recesses, a lift ribbon or a revised support arrangement may be worth sampling for a close-fitting product.
