Full Telescope Box FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
What does full telescope coverage change?
The separate lid covers most or all of the base wall, so approve both the overlap and the outside footprint together. Fit a paired sample around the complete packed item. The added wall coverage can affect opening effort, labeling and available hand grip.

How do we avoid a lid that jams on the base?
Specify the base and lid as a matched set using the intended board and assembled corner construction. Trial fit after packing and under expected storage conditions. Too little clearance can make removal difficult; too much can allow the lid to rock or lift.
Technical references
Should the full-telescope lid be strapped or sealed?
Choose retention from how the pack will be carried and shipped, rather than assuming the deep overlap locks it. Trial the final strap, tape or outer pack with the filled box and check that the closure does not crush edges or damage visible print.
Technical references
Can the lid be used to carry the filled box?
Do not rely on friction between the lid and base as a carrying feature. Demonstrate the intended handling method on loaded samples and specify any handles or straps separately. Include separation and accidental lifting by the lid in the packaging review.
