Five Panel Folder (FPF) FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
Why use a five-panel folder for a long item?
The blank wraps around the product and closes with an additional panel, which can suit long or shallow packing arrangements. Provide the full protected outline and loading direction. Sample the wrap sequence to confirm that end protection and the closing panel land correctly.

Where is the closing seam on a five-panel folder?
Confirm the seam position on the erected drawing, including which face receives the fifth panel. That location affects tape access, label placement and visible print. Wrap a mockup around the product before finalizing artwork that might otherwise be hidden under the overlap.
Technical references
Can the five-panel folder be packed by hand?
Trial it with the actual item at the packing bench, including any pads that must stay aligned while the blank wraps around them. Check the reach needed to fold the long panels and the method of holding the overlap during sealing.

How do we prevent an elongated product from escaping at the ends?
Specify the product's tendency to slide, any sharp ends and the intended end-flap arrangement. Assess filled samples for axial movement and end restraint. The long wraparound body does not replace a tested solution for keeping the product away from vulnerable end closures.
