Pizza Box FAQ

Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.

How do we choose the size of a pizza box?

Provide the largest finished pizza diameter, crust height and topping clearance, including normal kitchen variation. Test hot filled samples through your delivery routine. Check for lid contact, sliding and closure access before approving the footprint from a nominal menu size.

Technical references
Will ventilation prevent a soggy crust?

Vent position and heat retention need to be balanced for the actual food and journey. Compare filled samples at realistic holding times, checking condensation, crust texture and temperature. A vented drawing alone cannot predict the eating quality of your pizza.

Technical references
Do grease-resistant liners replace food-contact review?

No. Specify the food contact surfaces, serving temperature and destination market for the board, liner, inks and coatings being considered. Review the proposed material documentation for that use, then test hot greasy food for staining and leakage on the finished construction.

What should we test when stacking filled pizza boxes?

Use the usual kitchen stack and delivery bag with hot products inside. Watch for lid deflection onto toppings, damp corners and difficulty removing the bottom box. Evaluate the actual stack arrangement rather than assigning a stack height from the box style alone.
