Tin Tie Pouch FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
Does a tin tie make the pouch airtight after opening?
Treat the tie as a fold-and-hold reclosure unless testing supports a specific protection claim. Specify the initial sealing method and expected use period separately. Evaluate the actual product after opening rather than assuming a folded mouth restores the original sealed barrier.
Technical references
How much headspace is needed to fold the top?
Trial the fill volume with enough free material to make the intended folds and engage the tie comfortably. Check both full and partly used packs. Insufficient space can make the closure awkward or push product into the top folds.
Technical references
How should the tie be attached and positioned?
Send the bag width, closing sequence and desired visible presentation. Review the proposed tie length and attachment on filled samples, looking for loose ends, sharp contact points and lifting. Confirm that the attachment location does not obstruct your initial sealing process.
Technical references
Can the tie affect recycling instructions?
Include the tie material and attachment method in the complete-pack assessment. Ask whether removal is required and whether that instruction is practical for the user. Do not copy a mono-film disposal message onto a construction with an unassessed added closure.
