Flat Bottom Pouch FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
How do flat-bottom proportions affect shelf presentation?
Specify the desired width, depth and fill height with actual product volume. Check the filled base and panel alignment rather than choosing proportions from an empty sample. Review case fit and consumer access, especially when the pack is only partly full during use.
Technical references
Can the bag stay upright as the contents are used?
Trial both the initial fill and realistic partial-fill states. Examine whether the base remains open and the top becomes difficult to reclose or fold. State your presentation priorities so the design is judged through use, not just immediately after packing.
Technical references
Where should a zipper sit on a flat-bottom pouch?
Balance filling clearance, opening access and headspace before fixing the zipper position. Send your filling method and intended consumer use sequence. Test loading and reclosure with the actual product, checking that particles do not collect in the track or block a clean top seal.

What should be included in a barrier or recycling assessment?
Identify the complete laminate, base panels, zipper, valve and printed decoration. Ask for barrier data and a destination-specific recycling assessment for that construction. Multiple printable panels and a flat base do not establish either shelf-life suitability or a recycling claim.
