Roll Labels (For Bottles, Jars, Pouches) FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
What roll details does an automatic label applicator need?
Provide the applicator model, core size, maximum roll diameter, unwind diagram, label pitch and gap. These are purchase specifications, not artwork details. Request a trial roll to check sensing, dispensing, liner tracking and placement on your container at the intended operating conditions.
Why can a bottle label lift after application?
Container resin, surface contamination, curvature and application temperature can change adhesion. Send filled bottles or jars with their actual surface treatment, plus storage conditions. Evaluate the selected adhesive after dwell and condensation exposure; increasing label size alone may not resolve edge lift.

Should a squeezable pouch use the same label as a rigid jar?
Not automatically. A rigid jar and a flexing pouch place different demands on the label face. Compare conformable film candidates on the filled pouch, checking creases near seals and repeated squeezing. Supply the pouch laminate and intended label location before choosing the construction.

How can we avoid unreadable batch codes on glossy labels?
Specify the coder technology and reserve an area compatible with that process. Keep barcodes clear of strong reflections, seams and curved transitions. Ask for printed and coded samples, then verify readability after handling with your scanners and approved data format.
