Tapered Jar FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
What changes when a jar body tapers?
Request top and bottom diameters and the wall profile before planning labels or inserts. Use a filled sample to assess access near the narrower section and stability on the shelf. The taper should be reviewed as part of the usable package, beyond its visual effect.
Can a standard rectangular label work on the tapered wall?
Ask the label converter to develop artwork from the selected jar's profile and decoration template. Trial the label shape on physical jars, checking wrinkling and edge lifting. A layout that works on a straight cylinder may need adjustment for the changing circumference.

Will the lid sit flush with the tapered glass body?
Compare the assembled profile, cap skirt, and finish dimensions in the drawing and physical sample. Check cap removal clearance and sealing contact as well as appearance. Do not alter closure selection solely to achieve a flush look before compatibility and opening have been reviewed.
How should a tapered jar be supported in a retail insert?
Develop the support points from the actual jar profile, including its cap and filled weight. Check that movement does not concentrate contact on an exposed rim or decorated area. Inspect filled packs after handling trials for both glass damage and cosmetic rubbing.
