Frosted Glass Bottle FAQ
Practical answers on choosing the structure, avoiding common problems, and confirming the right specification for your product.
Is the frosted appearance etched glass or a coating?
Confirm the proposed finishing process on the quotation and physical sample. Acid etching changes the exterior glass surface, while a coating is a different finish requiring its own review. Ask the decorator to identify the process before approving color, feel, and artwork placement.
Technical references
Will a label adhere to the frosted body?
Send the finished surface sample to the label converter and test the intended adhesive, label stock, and application conditions. Inspect edge lifting after contact with the formula and handling. Approval on smooth clear glass should not be carried over automatically to the frosted version.
Does frosting change the closure fit?
Have the bottle supplier identify areas excluded from decoration and confirm the final finish dimensions. Inspect sealing surfaces and closure engagement on finished samples. Approve the decorated bottle and closure together so the appearance process does not obscure fit issues during sourcing.
How can we keep frosted bottles looking clean after transport?
Define the acceptable appearance with a physical reference, then test protective separation around the finished bottle. Review rubbing, fingerprints, and contact marks after realistic packing and unpacking. Evaluate the selected finishing process rather than assuming every frosted surface has the same handling characteristics.
